An ode to Tarja Turunen

The symphonic metal Goddess

Is there anything less to say about her??? Huh? Huh?…She is the face of symphonic metal or opera metal, if you prefer. She contributed deeply to the development of this genre and inspired other metal singers such as Simone Simons from Epica.

Although she trained hard in classical music, creating a super emotional and powerful voice, with a register of three octaves, she took interested in creating a new fusion of symphonic orchestra and metal. So, she collaborated with Thomas Holopainen and founded Nightwish. Thank the heavens for that!!!

Listening to her, you can feel a barrage of emotions. Her female high tone with the help of the strong vibrato, really burns your heart and makes you wanna wipe in tears. That particularly, is present in the shallow songs of Nightwish such as the ”Sleeping Sun”. In the other hand, you get super excited when you hear her performing ”She Is My Sin”… Trully remarkable indeed!

Now I will be addressing why she was fired from the band she cofounded with Thomas. Is there anything but in a person wanting to have a family? To enjoy life? But the Nightwish guys didn’t respected that and kicked her out. Nonetheless, they are still very successful with Floor Jansen but they are simply not what they used to be anymore…

In my final paragraph, I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Tarja for being a part of the metal community and for the great emotions she created to me. May God bless her and her family.
